219-212

Wow. There are so many things wrong with what just happened in Congress. The United States Congress just passed a health care "reform" bill that will open the pathway to turn our great, free nation into a mediocre, socialist one. I don't have the knowledge or eloquence to list facts and arguments, but what about this gut feeling -- the one that makes my stomach feel hollow inside and my heart jittery? That says something.

I am thanking God tonight, though, for the message presented this morning at my church. On a subject mostly unrelated to health care in America, the passage was 2 Chronicles 7:13-14:

13 "When (not if) I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

As I read on, I learned that really, we had it coming all along:

"But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. 21 And though this temple is now so imposing, all who pass by will be appalled and say, 'Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land and to this temple?' 22 People will answer, 'Because they have forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—that is why he brought all this disaster on them.' " verses 19-22

I honestly and firmly believe it has to get worse -- rock bottom-- before we will wake up. Yes, it can get worse, and it will.

Well it's been a while since I've blogged, I've just got no time these days. Not that I really had the time before, but I've been focusing my priorities a bit. I think I never put up pictures of Carly's birthday party, and I will eventually get Caleb's posted too. It's so late now though, it seems pointless. But I'll do it anyway, later.

I've got a to-do list a mile long this week, and a goal to have it completely check off before next Thursday. That doesn't sound so hard, but when the things on my list are: 1) Finish huge sewing project and deliver it 2) start another huge sewing project and finish it 3) Finish taxes and file them and 4) get our Dave Ramsey budget in place for next month so we can get our personal finances back on track...

...it seems quite daunting.

So I'll quit wasting my precious time on blogger and promise to come back someday with pictures!
